Cafe CLIL 23 - Art CLIL

Cafe CLIL 23 - Art CLIL (Part 1...)

A wonderful discussion with Julia Mena Dobson where, among many things, Julia talks about introspection, thinking time in art which is crucial for young learners to ‘get their heads around’ what is going on in the lesson. Julia also mentions the importance of the thinking in ‘other ways’ that arts and crafts offers learners. Art expression is also very personal and in many ways offers unique opportunities for personal expression not found in other parts of the curriculum. Phil also mentions the pillars of art education, creating, responding, connecting, performing and presenting.

In follow-up Phil and I wax lyrical about how we might all be ‘arting’ the curriculum and what a better world it would be for that!
